Career Development Programs

Mentoring Mondays is our new formal mentoring program that is launching in September 2024. Applications are now available and due on August 29, 2024. Mentoring Mondays bridges the gap between seasoned women attorneys and those newer to the legal profession. Through regular formal sessions, we foster professional growth, provide guidance, and discuss relevant workplace topics. Together, we create a supportive community that empowers women lawyers to thrive.
Mentoring Applicants must have at least ten years of practice as an attorney or similar experience. Mentees must be attorneys barred in at least one jurisdiction. All applicants must be a member of GAWL. Program applicants must agree to attend all four events (dates listed below) to be considered for the program. All events will be after hours beginning at 530pm in Midtown Atlanta. We hope to be able to broadcast the event live to members in chapters outside the metro Atlanta area such as Savannah, Columbus, Macon, Tifton, and Valdosta.

The sessions are panel discussions that will serve as a springboard for conversation with your Mentor or Mentee. The sessions will last approximately an hour leaving the remainder of the evening to dine with your Mentor or Mentee. Mentors and Mentees will arrange to meet (in person or virtually) in October, December, February, and April to maintain their relationship

GAWL Mentoring Circles accept new members each year. Applications are available in November. If you have never been a part of a mentor circle, it is a chance to bond with a small group of women and is very rewarding! Mentoring Circles are limited to practicing attorneys with a valid bar license in any state. If you are currently in a mentoring circle, but would like to change circles for whatever reason, please notify your mentoring circle leader, and fill out a new Statement of Interest during the application period. Current circle members who want to remain in their current circle do not need to fill out another application.

Applicatons become available for 2025 Mentoring Circles in November 2024.
